Customized Programs, French as foreign language
- What is the length of the stay and how much is it?
We have a few brochures of special programs that we organized depending on the clientele needs and expectations. Our brochures also provide a sample of the cost and the configuration. For further information, do not hesitate to contact us and together, we can elaborate an interesting program according to your needs. |

- How are the host families selected?
The person in charge of recruiting the families visits each family and evaluates them to see if they fit the high standards and the criteria. The questionnaire is available at the school upon request.
- Do the host families have children?
Not necessarily.
- How many students will there be in the same family?
For the customized training program, 2 students live in the same family.
- Will the teacher stay in a host family?
Yes, but he or she will be alone. No student will live with the teacher in a family.
- Will we have the name, address and phone number of the host family before our arrival in Quebec?
Yes of course, you will have all the pertinent information as to the number of children, animals, their customs, etc.
- Do the families speak English?
Not necessarily. The majority of the quebeckers have a functional English. The spoken language at home is always French in Quebec City since 98% of the population speaks French in their day to day life.
- What will we do on the weekend(s)?
Some activities are organized and included in the program (visit of the sports centre, sugar party,...). The activities are chosen according to the period of the year since there are 4 distinctive seasons in Quebec. Of course we also take into account the students' personality and the group's chemistry (cultural, intellectual or sports activities).
- How do you evaluate our level of competency in French?
There will be a written placement test before your arrival; it will be sent to you by e-mail. On the first day in class, the teachers will make all the necessary changes with your approval.
- Will there be any homework in the evening?
Not much. The optimal integration to the social and family life is our focus; most of the participants look for a linguistic and cultural life. They want to make the most out of the French environment while improving their oral competency (spoken and oral comprehension).
- What does the accompanying teacher do when the students are in class?
He is free to do what he wants. Most of the time, they choose to work on their professional or personal activities (administration, e-mails).
- Do we have to take the bus to go to school?
Yes, the bus fare is normally included in your package. The College is located on a busy street where the bus service is frequent and adequate.

- Is the College close to downtown?
It takes 10 minutes to go downtown by bus. Mapquest will help you.
- Do we have access to the web at school?
Yes, an access code will be given to you at no charge.
- What is the weather like in Quebec? What kind of clothes should I take along?
The weather can vary from 30 degree Celsius in the summer to minus 30 in the winter. For more details you should consult the Environment Canada website before your departure for more details.
